By downloading or using OwnStead, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the app. These terms form a binding agreement between you and Elbo International Pty Ltd, Victoria, Australia ("Elbo International", "we", "us").SUBSCRIPTION AND BILLING
Subscriptions are managed through the Apple App Store and are subject to Apple's Media Services Terms of Use. OwnStead subscriptions:
• Single plan — pricing as displayed in the App Store at the time of subscription — includes unlimited items, unlimited properties, unlimited AI scanning, and a 14-day free trial
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
• Manage or cancel subscriptions at: Settings → Apple ID → SubscriptionsWHAT A SUBSCRIPTION AFFECTS
A subscription enables adding new items (by any method), AI scanning, fresh claim bundle, PDF and CSV generation, and valuation refreshes. Your vault data is never deleted, hidden, or held hostage when a subscription lapses — it remains on your device, and you can always browse it, edit it, back it up and restore it with .ownsteadbackup, and keep the claim bundle OwnStead saves when a subscription ends. OwnStead provides Actual Cash Value (ACV) estimates using published insurer depreciation schedules. These estimates:
• Are informational only — they are not professional valuations or appraisals
• Are not guaranteed to be accepted by any insurer, adjuster, or court
• May not reflect current market conditions, regional variations, or item condition accurately
• Should not be relied upon as a substitute for a licensed valuer, appraiser, or insurance professional
OwnStead is not a licensed insurer, financial adviser, or valuation professional. Nothing in the app constitutes financial, insurance, or legal advice.BUSINESS USE DISCLAIMER
For Commercial properties, the accountant CSV export provides reference figures for capital assets only — not trading stock, quantities on hand, or reorder data. The figures are provided for reference and are not tax advice. Consult a registered tax agent or accountant for your specific circumstances. Every accountant export includes a disclosure statement to this effect.PROVENANCE AND EVIDENCE
OwnStead's provenance chain and verification sweep features create tamper-evident records using SHA-256 hashing and CloudKit timestamp anchoring. These records are tools to support your documentation; Elbo International makes no warranty that they will be accepted by any insurer, court, or tribunal as evidence of ownership. Their evidentiary weight depends on the legal context and jurisdiction in which they are used.USER RESPONSIBILITIES
You are responsible for:
• The accuracy of item details, purchase prices, and serial numbers you enter
• Maintaining backups of your vault data using the vault backup feature
• Keeping your iPhone and iCloud account secure, as OwnStead stores sensitive asset information on your device
• Using the app in compliance with applicable laws and your insurance policy termsLIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Elbo International's total liability for any claim arising from or related to OwnStead is limited to the amounts you paid for the app in the 12 months immediately preceding the claim.
Elbo International is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss — including loss of data, loss of revenue, or loss of an insurance claim — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such loss.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law, including consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded by contract.INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
OwnStead and all content within it — including its design, algorithms, text, and user interface — are owned by or licensed to Elbo International Pty Ltd and are protected by Australian and international intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use OwnStead on Apple-branded devices you own or control, solely for your personal or business asset documentation purposes, in accordance with these Terms and Apple's App Store terms.PROHIBITED USE
You may not:
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
• Use the app to submit fraudulent insurance claims or misrepresent the value or existence of assets
• Circumvent or tamper with the provenance chain for fraudulent purposes
• Sublicense, sell, or transfer your licence to use OwnStead to another partyCHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of OwnStead after an update constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.CONTACT

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. You agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria for the resolution of any dispute arising from these terms or your use of OwnStead.
